Our tired tires took to the road again, back to San Diego for an encore (!!!) performance in the art gallery of The Rubber Rose(http://www.therubberrose.com)  This show is for us, as with all who commit, a labor of love - a show that you can hardly ever say "no" to.  A smaller and more intimate crowd, still, our performance vibe and our commitment to the cause remained.  A wonderful cast and crew reunion, and even some rookie and veteran blood infused the stage.  Quite an honor.

We played to a full (700 seat) house
and raised over $7,500 for our charities! 

"Throughout the entire performance, in between and during each of our monologues, I was just looking around at all of these lovely ladies on the stage. Taking it all in.  Everything that our fearless director, Wendy, envisioned and everything we've all been sweating for was coming to pass. Sharing the stage with the bonafide pioneers and alumnis, the seasoned - yet - new vaginas, and teenagers (!!!) standing toe-to-toe with "the big dawgs"... what a sight to see.  I can only thank them for such wonderment!!!"

Our inaugural project takes us on the ground in "America's Finest City" as we partner in a global effort to end violence against women and girls.  We've signed on to the 2008 V-Day Worldwide Campaign that promotes benefit performances of Eve Ensler's world renowned play, The Vagina Monologues, to revitalize the spirit of anti-violence organizations across the country.  

This February BATTLECRY is ringing in the new production company and the new year with V-Day's 10 Year Anniversary.  Join us as we celebrate a decade of empowering women to find their collective voice, demanding that the violence stop.
 

As San Diego's main V-Day event, young women from a volunteer theatre company will share the stage with invited professional women artists from a nationwide performance community.  Our benefit performance will raise awareness and funds for The Chadwick Center and The San Diego Center for Community Solutions.

BATTLECRY is privileged to collaborate with two dynamic local theatre groups (Step UP Theatre and InnerMission Productions) in a multi-medi-art event that will showcase Crystal Callahan (BATTLECRY Owner & Artist) and Aleia Ramsey (Premier BATTLECRY Talent) onscreen and onstage.

We were tapped to film this journey.  BATTLECRY's original behind the scenes DocuDrama: The Faces of Vday is slated to premiere in May of 2008.
